About Santiago de la Ribera
Santiago de la Ribera was founded in 1888. It was designed in an excellent and modern way for its time. Today it is a town with a modern feel and a wide range of services. A beautiful coastal profile together with a refurbished old town centre make this beautiful town a unique holiday destination, which preserves a warm flavour of a seaside place with friendly and close neighbours. In 1929, an air base was built in the town, which became the headquarters of the General Air Academy. In addition, to the south is the Calblanque Regional Park, a protected area near the coast, full of arid mountain ranges, long beaches of golden and ochre sands, secluded coves and the beautiful formation of fossil dunes, white salt flats and mountain massifs that contrast with the blue of the sea.
